CammyFei Long
Fei Longãã§ã¤ãã³é£å¤©æµHitenryÅ«
Fei Long was designed as a pastiche of real-life martial artist and movie starBruce Lee. The English localization of theoriginal arcade game pays tribute to Bruce Lee by having Fei Longstate 'there could never be another legend like the great one andhis son', a reference to Bruce Lee and his son Brandon, who diedshortly before the release of the game, although these referenceswere removed in the revised localization of the Game BoyAdvance version of the game.
Fei Long reappears in the console versions of Street Fighter Alpha 3 (1998). The game takes place beforeFei Long achieved fame as a movie star, as he makes his first hitmovie in his ending in the game. He returns as a playable characterin the console versions of Street Fighter IV. His alternatecostume in Street Fighter IV resembles Bruce Lee's outfit in Enter theDragon. Fei Long has been given a new ultra in Super StreetFighter IV and it furthers the homage to Bruce Lee by performing aflurry of punches ending with the One Inch Punch.
As a non-playable character, Fei Long appears as a spectator inDan's stage in Street Fighter Alpha 2 andin Felicia's ending in Super Gem Fighter: Mini-Mix (Ken hooksher up with Fei Long to jumpstart her movie career), in which healso has a cameo in one of the stages, in a ramen restaurant.
The Seattle Times described Fei-Long as'the deadliest' of the new characters introduced in SuperStreet Fighter II.[19]IGN ranked Fei-Long at number nineteenin their 'Top 25 Street Fighter Characters' article, stating 'Ifthere's any martial arts star who deserves a videogame homage, though, Bruce Lee is probably the one. Fei Long helped begin along...string of characters inspired by the kung fu icon BruceLee'.[20]

Dee Jay reappears as a playable character in the consoleversions of Street Fighter Alpha 3. Thegame is set before the World Warrior tournament and depicts Dee Jaybefore he began his professional music career. Dee Jay also appearsin the console version of Street Fighter: The Movie.
Dee Jay (like many other characters) made a smallguest-appearance in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Here, hebeats up a few punks causing trouble at a nightclub before beingwarned by Guile and Chun-Li that he is being spied on by Bison.
In the 1994 live action movie, he wasportrayed by Miguel A. NunezJr. Here he is one of the minions of M. Bison and appears tohave an aptitude for working with computers (at one point near theending he utters to himself 'Oh, mon! I should have stayed atMicrosoft'). Though competent he is portrayed as cowardly as heabandons Bison as he is giving a speech about accepting defeat. DeeJay is often paired up with Zangief on-screen, but their interactionsusually involve Zangief saying something uninformed and/or stupidand Dee Jay shooting Zangief a disgusted glare. Later, he and Sagat escapefrom Bison's base via a waterway located beneath the temple-basealong with a case full of cash. To their disappointment they findthe case is really full of worthless Bison Dollars, the currencywhich Bison intended to establish as part of his new nation earlierin the film.
In the Street Fighter TV series, heserved as the team's computer expert and helicopter pilot.
Dee Jay will reappear in Super Street Fighter IV,an update to Street Fighter IV[23],using a brand new move as his ultra combo, the Summer Festival.

Charlie would later bemade into a playable character in StreetFighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams, a prequel set before the Street FighterII games. Street Fighter Alpha itself was followed bytwo sequels, Street Fighter Alpha 2 andStreet Fighter Alpha 3. Inthe storyline of the Alpha series, Charlie is a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force and isgiven the duty to track down Bison and uncover corruption withinthe American military. In his endings in the first two games,Charlie is almost killed by Bison and his men, but survives eachtime (he is first struck by Bison from behind, and in the secondgame is shot in the back by his own men and thrown down awaterfall). The console version of Alpha 3 introducedGuile as a playable character in the Alpha series and inhis version of the ending: he and Charlie infiltrate Bison's baseto blow up the Psycho Drive, and Guile escapes while Charlie staysbehind to hold off Bison and is presumed dead after theexplosion.
Guile also wears Charlie's old clothes as an alternate costumein Street Fighter IV. Charlie alsoappears along with other Street Fighter Alpha charactersin X-Men vs. Street Fighter, where he uses more powerful versions of his special moves. InMarvel Super Heroesvs. Street Fighter an alternate version of Charlie named'Shadow' appears as a hidden character. Shadow's sprite is the sameas Charlie's, but with nearly his entire body blacked out, and awhite eye shining behind his glasses. He has all of Charlie'smoves, but his attacks sets his opponent alight with bluePsycho-Power flames. Shadow also appears in Marvel vs.Capcom as a 'helper characters' who can assist the player incombat and in Chun-Li's ending, rescuing her from Bison. In Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Charlie appearsas his regular self once again.
Outside of fighting games, Charlie also appears a playablecharacter in the shoot 'em upCannon Spike with fellow StreetFighter character Cammy.Charlie was also one of the characters who was scheduled to befeatured in Capcom'sunreleased 3D fighting game Capcom FightingAll-Stars. In various English media, such as the UDON comic book version and theEnglish adaptation of the Street Fighter Alpha manga byMasahiko Nakahira, the names 'Charlie' (his English name) and'Nash' (his Japanese name) were combine to form the full name ofCharlie Nash.
Charlie Nash was played by Chris Klein in Street Fighter:The Legend of Chun-Li, where he is portrayed as a member ofInterpol.
However, in the 1994 film adaptation StreetFighter, Charlie Nash's character was combined with thecharacter of Blanka to form the character Carlos 'Charlie' Blanka, a soldier andfriend in Colonel Guile's unit taken as a POW in Bison's Shadowloocompound. When Bison discovers the identity of 'Charlie' throughone of Guile's threats, he then sends him to be 'reprogrammed' byDhalsim (who is a mad scientist in this film) to become the greenskinned, red haired killing machine known simply as 'Blanka'.

In the Japanese versions of the Street Fighter Alphagames, where the series is known as Street Fighter Zero,Sodom's victory quotes are composed of seemingly nonsensicalEnglish phrases that are actually meant to be mispronouncedJapanese phrases. For example, Sodom would say 'Die Job Death Car?'instead of 'daijobu desu ka?大ä¸å¤«ã§ããNippon daisuki(ãããã³å¤§å¥½ã[25][26]In the English version of Alpha 3, Sodom says 'Don't thankme! In fact, 'don't touch my moustache!' in one of his victoryquotes. 'Don't touch my moustache' is a commonly taughtapproximation of the phrase dÅ itashimashiteã©ãè´ãã¾ãã¦

Sakura
Created for Street Fighter Alpha 2,several developers at Capcom voiced their concern about thepracticality of the character in contrast to those already in theStreet Fighter series. Regardless, the group that hadprevious created Charlie Nash for StreetFighter Alpha and Spider-Man's appearance in Marvel SuperHeroes worked heavily on her. An early design featured herin a kimono shirt and hakama pants,[32] butwas later abandoned in favor of a Japanese sailor outfit with redbloomers.
Sakura first appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 2, whereshe had begun to participate in street fighting after watching Ryuwin the first World Warrior tournament. She was searching for himand wished for him to train her to be a better fighter. She met upwith many interesting people along the way, and eventually cameacross Ryu, who was still stressed over the Satsui noHadou that had corrupted himâhe told her he could not trainher as he still had much to learn himself. He sparred with her fora bit and as he began to leave, she took a picture of him toremember him by.
In Street Fighter Alpha 3Sakura decided to travel the world to find Ryu. She started off inher native Japan and fought the sumo wrestler E. Honda, whomentioned that Ryu went to India and Thailand. She also fought arematch with her rival Karin Kanzuki, andthough Karin won the fight, she admitted Sakura was better and shehad learned winning was not everything. Thereafter traveling withher self-proclaimed sensei, Dan, she met his friend Blanka along the way and was promised a matchwith him. She continued to search the world for Ryu, eventuallyditching Dan and finding Ryu's friend and rival Ken. She tells him howshe loves to fight to better herself, and finding inspiration inthose words himself, Ken joins her. Sakura eventually finds Ryu inThailand, where he is actually being brainwashed by M. Bison. Sagat is alsopresent and he fights Ryu while both Ken and Sakura take on Bison.Sakura is injured by Bison and this combined with Sagat's attemptsto reach Ryu finally release him of his mind control. Ryu thenattacks Bison who is now forced to retreat. Ryu tells Sakura thathe is not ready to train her and fight a rematch with her yet, andwalks off, with Sakura watching as he leaves.
In Street Fighter IV, years havepast since Sakura last saw Ryu, so she decides to find Ryu againfor a match. She ends up joining the new World Tournament sponsoredby S.I.N., an organization collecting street fighter data fromaround the world. In her ending after completing arcade mode,Sakura sees Ryu trying to stop the explosion of the machine holdingall of the fighter's data and attempts to help him. Instead, shegets in the way, and Ryu must stop the machine with a Shoryukensince he is worried about Sakura causing the machine to explode andrelease energy all around. Sakura is engulfed by a red energy andfaints, and Ryu carries her to safety.
Sakura has a brother named Tsukushi ã¤ããåæ³ã±ã¤
Rival Schools saw Sakura involved in the adventurebetween her school and various others in Aohura city. Fighting inthe school tournament, she realizes how much it means to her toprotect something she cares about.
IGN ranked Sakura at numbertwenty-one in their 'Top 25 Street Fighter Characters' article, noting that while the Japanese schoolgirl design was 'obvious', herattitude and funny moments offered a pleasant contrast.[33] Sheadditionally placed number thirteen in GameDaily's 'Top 20 Street Fighter Charactersof All Time' article.[34] Inthe January 30, 1997 issue of Gamest magazine in Japan,Sakura ranked at No. 3 from the poll Top 50 Characters of 1996.[35]

How Bison came into possession of the item is neverexactly explained, though it's similar in appearance to the crestson her head. When Bison is eventually defeated, she comments that aregular human being like him couldn't possibly control that energy, and takes the whole Psycho Drive with her as she leaves.
Finally, she apparently has the ability to travel through time,as she mentions heading to the year 201X in order to contact Ryu inher ending (in the English version, that ending was mistranslatedand alluded to Ryu becoming a monk in the future, when Ingridactually simply called him a 'kid' å°å§kozÅ

Introduced inStreet Fighter: The MovieBlade
Blade(played by game designer Alan Noon) is acharacter who appears exclusively in the Street Fighter: TheMovie arcade game. He is not based on any previous StreetFighter II character, but is dressed as a red-clad member ofBison's shock troops from the film which the game is based on.Blade has undergone rigorous physical training and conceals anarray of weapons such as knives and grenades. In Blade ending, heis revealed to be Guile's brother Gunloc (a character from Saturday Night SlamMasters), who has infiltrated the Shadaloo Gang as a deepcover agent.[47]
In addition to Blade, there are also three hidden characters inthe arcade game whom are all palette swaps of Blade.Khyber (the yellow shock trooper) uses specialtechniques that resemble the ones used Dhalsim (a character who wasnot featured in the arcade game) such as the Yoga Flame and YogaBlast, while Arkane (the blue shock trooper) has ateleporting technique. F7 (the black shocktrooper) has all the techniques of the other three shock troopers. They also share Blade's ending.[99]The four shock troopers are the only characters from the arcadegame excluded in the Street Fighter: The Movie consolegame (which is a different game based on the same film).
Sawada
Captain Sawadaãã£ããã³ã»ãµã¯ã[100]
Capcom at the time pushed heavily to promote actor Kenya Sawadain any means possible, giving the staff behind the film and gamethe impression that he was to be the 'face' of Capcom, their ownaction hero to star in later material.[101]
He is characterized as Colonel Guile's right-hand-man and theleader of the AN commando force. He is a hand-to-hand combatspecialist who is proficient in all kinds of martial arts. Sawada'sactual role in the film is very minor. He's shown only a few timesactually speaking and fighting in the film, and has command of asmall amount of ground troops in the assault on Bison's base. Yetat the end, he's shown amongst the main characters as they take apose at the very end of the film.
His design varies somewhat from that in the film in the videogame. The developers who worked on the arcade version had him goshirtless, based on the fact he was 'buff' and inspired a bit from Mortal KombatII characters of the time.[102] Hadthis presented a problem, the staff would have opted to have ashirt painted over his sprites.[103] Thedesign resembled in many ways that of Fei Long, and led to theactor being involved in digitizing sessions for both Sawada and FeiLong. For Fei Long, the design itself took little need to alteroutside of a change of pants, shoes, and hair. However Fei-Long'sframes were never cleaned due to time constraints, leaving onlySawada.[104]
Despite speculation to the contrary, Sawada is unarmed in thearcade game. The 'katana'shown was intended at the time to be 'motion blur': given aconflict between the two capcom branches however, flickertransparency was not applied and it was instead left solid. Hisslashing attacks were intended to have an ethereal appearance tothem, akin to the Hadouken. The designers argued for theflicker effect but were instead denied, and as a result opted for alook based on Mortal Kombat's effects at the time.[105]Later appearances from the console version of the game changed thisaspect of him giving him an actual katana.
Michael Dobson voiced Sawada in two episodes of Street Fighter as head ofthe A.N. Special Forces when Gulie was discharged and formed histeam.
Introduced in theStreet Fighter IV seriesC. Viper
Crimson Viperã¯ãªã ã¾ã³ã»ã´ã¡ã¤ãã¼
While previous Street Fighter titles relied almostsolely on Capcom's Research and Development branch, the developmentteam instead allowed other branches of the company to give input onthe design of new characters, due to the influx of fan requestsfrom outside of Japan.[107]Viper was designed based upon marketing research on what sorts ofcharacters an American audience would enjoy playing,[108]and tailored her towards Western tastes as an experiment to see howaudiences would receive the character.[109]Street Fighter IV executive has described her as the most'unorthodox' of the four new characters introduced in the title, emphasizing this aspect as one he felt would appeal to Americanplayers,[110] andwas his favorite character when the game was early indevelopment.[111] Inresponse to claims that the character resembled one found morecommonly in SNKdeveloped games, Ono retorted that the resemblance was unintended, and that she was the created from the best parts of severalproposed designs early during development.[112] Hewent on to state that she was also an attempt to create a characterwith a 'cool' design, which he feels are predominate in SNKtitles.[113]
Designed by Daigo Ikeno,[114]Viper was designed around the concept of a 20 year old singlemother.[115]
Crimson Viper made her debut appearance in the2008 Street Fighter IV as an Americandouble agent posing as a shadaloo worker but actually a CIA agentundercover. She wears a S.I.N form fitting suit which enables herto perform electrical, seismic, and pyrotechnic moves. It is saidshe is motivated by her daughter Lauren as well as money.
VideoGamer.com described Crimson Viperas looking 'ridiculous', adding that she resembled 'an SNK character lostin a Capcom game'.[116]Anime NewsNetwork felt the character fit comfortably in the 'StreetFighter mold', though noted regardless she still looked moreappropriate for the King ofFighters series.[117]Eurogamer felt similarsentiments, though noted that the contrast did not quite fit withthe game's aesthetic.[118]A reviewer for the New Straits Times described heras the best of the new characters, praising both her appearance andattack arsenal.[119]GamesRadar stated thatwhile her attacks made her feel out of place in the title, 'that'swhy she adds so much to the game'.[120]IGN AUpraised the character, stating approval for the variations of herattacks.[121]
Abel
Abel(ã¢ãã«
It is hinted in Abel's ending that he was actually created byShadaloo as a prototype of Seth. This is reinforced by dialoguefrom both Bison and Seth, who mention him as 'the one that gotaway'. The appearance of his eyes also change to resemble Seth'sduring the initiation of his Ultra Combo. It is also hinted thatCharlie is the person that helped him as he recognized Guile'sfighting style and comments to Chun Li about the soldier thatrescued him from Shadaloo.
![]()
His game mostly revolves around mixing up different punches andkicks and baiting, and also emphasizes appending focus-dash-cancelcombos to an initial crouching hard punch or standing hard punchand further mixing up additional punches or kicks from there.
His signature move - his ultra - involves him delivering aseries of punches and kicks to his opponent, throwing them into theair and body slamming them back down on to the ground.
In his original design, he was a young judo fighter who worepigtails and 'could be mistaken for a girl.'[122]

RufusSeth
The boss character of Street Fighter IV,Seth(ã»ã¹[123] Heis named after Seth Killian, Capcom's senior manager.[124]
His normal moves are similar to those of Urien from StreetFighter III, but his Special Moves are mainly techniques usedby other characters: Seth can perform variations of Guile's Sonic Boom, Ryu and Ken's ShÅryÅ«ken, Chun-Li's Hyakuretsukyaku, Dhalsim's Yoga Teleport, Dhalsim'slonge-range Hard Punch and Kick attacks, and Zangief's Spinning Pile Driver. He usesthe Tanden Engine in his only original Special Move, a techniquewhich lures his opponents to him with the device. Any attack thrownat him while performing this move will simply pass through him. HisSuper Combo technique is the 'Tanden Storm', in which he uses theenergy stored in the Tanden Engine to pulverize his opponent. HisUltra Combo is the 'Tanden Stream', in which Seth uses the TandenEngine to create a strong energy whirlpool, which compresses hisopponent to fit into his fists and then throws them with greatstrength.
Seth is a computer-only final boss in the arcade version ofStreet Fighter IV, but is selectable in the homeversion.[125]
In the ending video following Seth's completion of thetournament, he was revealed to be known as number '15', one of manysimilar androids created by Bison. Originally created to become oneof Bison's 'replacement bodies', 15 rebelled against hisprogramming, resulting in him attempting to overthrow Bison andpursue his own agendas.
VideoGamer.com heavily criticized Seth, describing him as 'cheap to fight against' and a lazy effort on thepart of the game's development team. They went on to describe himas resembling a rip-off of Watchmen's Doctor Manhattan, adding that the culmination of his 'silly name' and moves takenfrom existing characters made him a disappointment.[116]Eurogamer felt similarsentiments, citing the character's gameplay would result 'causemany tantrums above the easiest difficulty'.[118]IGN AU,though while stating he one of several 'great' additions to thegame's roster, emphasized that the character felt 'gimmicky'.[121]Xbox 360 described him as the game's only majordisappointment, noting that despite how imaginative othercharacters in the title felt his role as the game's final boss feltanti-climatic.[126]
