Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Love the picture quality and clarity
Does exactly what it says Feels amazing as a monitor Excellent color quality with some tweaking
Cons: Some backlight bleed issues, even in 2019 which is unfortunate. Can be controlled somewhat by reducing brightness but not much else that can be done. Just hope to ignore it at best.

ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q - Yellow tint left side3/19/2019 7:04:32 AM
Pros: Beautiful, awesome gaming experience! Best I ever had.
Easy to set up.
Cons: Very expensive.
Some back light bleed - not severe but noticeable on black or dark screen. Not a deal breaker. Yellow tint left side about 1/3rd of screen getting worse towards the left edge. DEAL BREAKER!
Other Thoughts: RMA'd it and crossing my fingers that the replacement won't have the discoloration issue. 1 star because of the yellow screen problem but would be at least 4 stars without that issue. I will amend my review once I have the new one.
Dear Robert,
Hello, I would like to thank you for taking your time in writing this review. We certainly value your feedback. It is unfortunate that your monitor has yellow tint on 1/3 of your screen and backlight bleed. Regarding the backlight bleed, have you tried calibrating your monitor's brightness settings (ranges from 30-50) to see if that helps with the back light bleed? On top of that, did you set BLUE LIGHT FEATURES: mode to Level 4? Sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. What were the manufacturering dates of these monitors? Every NEW PG279Q sold in North America must now pass a visual inspection in a darkened environment before it’s shipped to a vendor. Sorry for the inconvenience. Pros: - Great image quality
- Great refresh Rate - GSync works well
Cons: - *Known Issue* It will not power back on when you unplug it, then plug back in
- Customer Support kindly tells you they'll fix at a cost to you
Other Thoughts: - Although it worked well until I unplugged it, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a large purchase item with little support when a known issue happens outside of their limited warranty
- Several other great monitors to choose from that have fewer issues and better support ![]()

Hi guys, i just got my monitor back from warranty as it had begun to die on me but it seems the technician has only replaced the LCD panel so that it just does that and no longer can use the physical settings and power buttons etc so i can't change the contrast/change the display port i want to use... it turns on as soon as i plug it in with no blue light indicator that its on. Is there a way i can open it back up and fix it? and is this the work of a lazy technician? Thanks for the advice
EDIT: the monitor is an ASUS VS248H EDIT 2: if i cant make them work again, is there a way for me to change to contrast/brightness etc on my monitor without sending it back to ASUS? Thanks Comments are closed.
